MATCH PREVIEW
MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN

Tijuana suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat away to Monarcas Morelia in their last outing, with Eduardo Coudet’s side playing almost the entire game with ten men after Emmanuel Aguilera’s 16th minute red card. That loss saw Tijuana slip below Monarcas to tenth in the league table. They have now taken just one point and scored only one goal in their last three matches.
Veracruz lost 2-0 away to their relegation rivals Atlas before the international break. That result saw Atlas overtake Veracruz in the league table and extend their advantage over them at the foot of the relegation rankings. Jose Cardozo’s side are now at real risk of dropping into Mexico’s second division next summer.
Both sides are struggling for form, but Tijuana have a stronger squad. Veracruz have lost 24 and won just two of their last 32 away games in the league, so this should be a home win.

SECOND PREDICTION: FIRST TEAM TO SCORE – TIJUANA

Tijuana have scored more goals and conceded fewer times than their visitors, who have conceded the opener in five of their last six league games. The hosts are more likely to get the first goal.

HEAD TO HEAD
Tijuana’s last five meetings with Veracruz have produced two wins for either side and one draw.
