MATCH PREVIEW
MAIN PREDICTION: AWAY WIN

Steve Cotterill takes charge of his first Birmingham game on Friday as his side welcome the league leaders to the Midlands. The new manager has plenty of work to do as the Blues languish in 22nd place in the table on eight points. Last time out, City crumbled to an embarrassing 6-1 defeat at Hull, meaning they have now lost six of their last eight Championship games.
Neil Warnock’s Cardiff had an excellent week before the international break. The Bluebirds beat Sunderland and Leeds before earning a hard-fought 0-0 home draw with Derby. The Welsh outfit sit pretty at the top of the Championship table having taken 24 points from 11 games.
Cardiff have been strong away from home this season, winning three, drawing one and losing one of their opening five on the road. Only Wolves and Fulham have picked up more away points so far. Despite a new manager at the helm at St Andrew’s, I’m backing an easy Cardiff win.

SECOND PREDICTION: FIRST TEAM TO SCORE – CARDIFF

Cardiff have opened the scoring in all three of their Championship away wins so far. They have also netted the opening goal in two of their last three games. Back Cardiff to score first.

HEAD TO HEAD
The last three meetings between Birmingham and Cardiff have ended in draws, including both fixtures last season.
