Callum O’Dowda is a doubt with an ankle injury while striker Milan Djuric is out for Lee Johnson’s Bristol City.

The trio of Louis Thompson, Harrison Reed and Matt Jarvis are doubtful for Daniel Farke’s Norwich. The Canaries will definitely be without midfielder Marco Stiepermann, who is out with a groin strain.

MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: HHAD – Norwich (+1) AWAY WIN

After beating Reading 2-0 on Boxing Day, Bristol City briefly moved up to second in the table. However, two damaging league defeats later, the Robins are back down to fourth. Last time out in the league, City fell to an embarrassing 5-0 loss at Aston Villa. They were also heavily beaten by Watford in the FA Cup at the weekend. However, Bristol City did perform well in their 2-1 defeat at Man City in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final during the week.

As for Norwich, they held the English champions Chelsea to a 0-0 draw at Carrow Road in the cup on Saturday. The Canaries have picked up seven points from the last nine on offer in the Championship too, after beating Millwall 2-1 in their last league outing. After losing four away matches in a row, Norwich have won at Birmingham and drawn at Burton Albion in recent weeks.

With both teams looking for a win, this one could go either way at Ashton Gate. Despite being 13 points behind their hosts in the table, the momentum is certainly with Norwich. That could give the visitors the edge, so back Norwich to seal a vital victory in Bristol. To be on the safe side, I will go with Norwich on the +1 market.

SECOND PREDICTION: CORRECT SCORE – 0-1

The last time there was a winner in this fixture, Norwich came out on top with a 1-0 win back in August last season. Have a punt on another 1-0 Norwich victory this time around.

HEAD TO HEAD

Bristol City have not beaten Norwich since a Championship matchup in February 2009.

Prediction:  Norwich (+1)
