MATCH PREVIEW
MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN
---
Both sides recorded decent and surprising 2-0 away wins on Friday.

Jong AZ Alkmaar are the first side this season to beat Emmen at home as they booked their fourth away win of the season – although it can be said that they were lucky as an Emmen own goal, followed  by Jelle Duin’s spot kick in stoppage time, saw them clinch the three points.

Go Ahead Eagles bagged their 2-0 win against then-league leaders Jong Ajax, who, as a result, have now been overtaken by NEC Nijmegen. It was Go Ahead’s second away win of the season as they managed to end an eight-game losing streak on away turf. Both goals in that win arrived in the second half, with Rick Ketting and Pieter Langedijk securing victory by both adding a goal. Goalkeeper Sonny Stevens saved a penalty in the first half.

Both teams did well on Friday, but Jong AZ have been performing well since early February, with five wins from their past six, while Go Ahead have been struggling. I predict a home win.
---
SECOND PREDICTION: HALF TIME HAD – DRAW
Jong AZ Alkmaar and Go Ahead Eagles aren’t the most prolific goalscorers before half time, with both registering only 18 first-half goals in their 28 league matches. I think we will see a low-scoring draw after 45 minutes.

HEAD TO HEAD
These sides meet for the very first time in Alkmaar. Go Ahead Eagles won 2-1 at home when the teams played each other in October, in their first meeting in this head-to-head.
